Custom Vehicle Wraps, Color Changes & Commercial Graphics in Metro Atlanta

Q&A

Everything you should know before booking

Custom wrap, tint, PPF, and modification work is not one-size-fits-all. Below are answers to the questions we get most often about pricing, materials, timing, prep, and what to expect.

General

What does Vinyl Alchemy do?

Vinyl Alchemy provides professional vehicle restyling and protection services, including color change wraps, commercial wraps, chrome delete, hood and roof wraps, accent wraps, paint protection film (PPF), window tint, selected vehicle modifications, and specialty/marine projects.

Where are you located?

Vinyl Alchemy serves customers throughout North Georgia and the Metro Atlanta area.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes. We provide quotes based on the vehicle, the service requested, the condition of the surface, and the scope of work.

How do I get a quote?

Send us the year, make, and model, along with clear photos and a description of what you want done. If there is old wrap, tint, PPF, paint damage, or anything unusual, include that too. Better information leads to a better quote.

Do you work by appointment only?

Yes. Most services are scheduled by appointment so we can properly plan prep, production, installation time, and delivery.

Wraps

What is a color change wrap?

A color change wrap is a vinyl film applied over the exterior painted surfaces of a vehicle to change its appearance without repainting it. It is available in gloss, satin, matte, metallic, carbon-style, and other specialty finishes.

Is a wrap permanent?

No. A wrap is removable, but removal time and ease depend heavily on the age of the film, sun exposure, condition of the surface, and how well it was installed and maintained.

How long does a wrap last?

That depends on the film, the installation, the climate, storage conditions, and how the vehicle is maintained. A well-installed wrap that is cared for properly will last longer than one left outside and neglected.

Does a wrap damage paint?

A properly installed wrap on sound original paint generally should not damage the surface. The bigger risk is weak paint, failing clear coat, poor repaint work, oxidation, or damaged panels.

Can you wrap a vehicle with peeling paint or bad clear coat?

Sometimes, but it is not ideal. Vinyl is not a fix for failing paint. If the surface is unstable, the wrap may not bond properly and removal may make the condition worse.

Can you wrap over dents, scratches, rust, or body damage?

Wrap does not hide bad bodywork. Minor imperfections may still show through, and more serious issues should be repaired first if you want a clean result.

Do you remove trim, badges, lights, or handles?

That depends on the vehicle and the level of finish required. Some jobs need more disassembly for a cleaner result, and that affects labor and pricing.

Do door jambs get wrapped?

Not by default. Standard exterior wraps usually cover the visible outer painted surfaces. Door jambs and inner areas are typically separate upgrades unless specifically included.

Is a wrapped vehicle the same as paint?

No. A wrap can look excellent when done properly, but it is still a film over the paint, not a repaint.

Can I go through a car wash with a wrap?

Hand washing is safest. Automatic brush washes are harder on wraps and can shorten their life or damage edges over time.

How should I care for a wrapped vehicle?

Use mild soap, soft wash tools, and avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive scrubbing, and aggressive pressure at seams and edges.

How long does a full wrap take?

That depends on the vehicle, material, prep requirements, and amount of disassembly. Full wraps are not same-day work.

Do you offer printed commercial wraps too?

Yes. We offer commercial wrap solutions including lettering, logos, partial wraps, full wraps, and fleet graphics.

Do you design the wrap too?

Yes, depending on the project. Some clients provide finished artwork, and others need design, layout, revisions, and print-ready production files.

Chrome Delete, Roof, Hood & Accent Wraps

What is chrome delete?

Chrome delete is the process of wrapping chrome trim in another finish, usually gloss black, satin black, matte black, or a custom color.

How much does chrome delete cost?

Pricing depends on the vehicle, the amount of trim, the shape of the trim, and what is included. It is quoted based on the actual scope, not a fake one-price-fits-all number.

What is included in a roof wrap?

A roof wrap usually covers the painted roof surface only unless otherwise noted. Roof rails, antennas, spoilers, and other trim may affect pricing.

Can you wrap just the hood or roof?

Yes. Hood wraps, roof wraps, blackout sections, stripe packages, and other accent work are common services.

What counts as an accent wrap?

Accent wraps can include mirror caps, spoilers, stripes, trim sections, black-out elements, and selected custom details. The category is broad, so pricing depends on what is actually being wrapped.

PPF

What is PPF?

PPF stands for paint protection film. It is a clear protective film designed to help defend painted surfaces against rock chips, light scratches, road debris, and everyday wear.

What is the difference between PPF and a wrap?

A color change wrap is mainly for appearance. PPF is mainly for paint protection. They are different materials built for different purposes.

Why does PPF cost more than a wrap?

PPF is a premium protection product. The material costs more, it is thicker, and it must be installed to a tighter standard because it is meant to look nearly invisible (clear PPF).

What areas can be protected with PPF?

Common packages include partial front, full front, rockers, mirrors, door cups, luggage strip, and full vehicle coverage.

Is PPF invisible?

High-quality PPF is designed to be as discreet as possible, but no installation is truly magic. Edges, seams, and panel ending points may still be visible depending on the vehicle and package.

Can PPF be installed over a wrap?

Sometimes, depending on the material and application. Not every situation is a good candidate, so that is evaluated case by case.

Does PPF stop all rock chips?

No. PPF helps reduce damage, but it does not make the vehicle invincible.

Can PPF yellow or fail over time?

Any film can age if neglected or heavily exposed. Material quality, installation quality, and maintenance all matter.

Pricing & Estimates

Do you list prices on your website?

We list starting prices or realistic ranges for common services, but exact pricing depends on the actual vehicle and scope.

Why can’t you give an exact price without seeing the vehicle?

Because pricing depends on vehicle size, body shape, material choice, surface condition, prep needs, removal, design time, and disassembly. Two vehicles that seem similar can price very differently.

Do you charge for wrap removal?

Yes. Removal is typically billed separately unless specifically included. Old, sunbaked, brittle, or adhesive-heavy wraps take substantially more time.

Why does wrap removal pricing vary so much?

Because one wrap comes off in clean sheets and another was apparently installed by Satan in July. Film age, sun exposure, adhesive condition, and surface condition make a massive difference.

Is the cheapest quote the best deal?

Usually not. Cheap wrap work often means corners were cut in prep, materials, trimming, edge finishing, or labor time. That shows up later.

Do you require a deposit?

Most projects require a 50% deposit to reserve time, order materials, and begin production planning.

Vehicle Modifications

Do you install customer-supplied parts?

Yes, on selected projects. Customer-supplied products must be complete and compatible with the vehicle. Labor covers installation only unless otherwise stated.

What if the customer-supplied part doesn’t fit or work correctly?

Additional diagnostic or troubleshooting time is billed separately, because “it said it fits online” is not actually a technical specification.

What types of modifications do you install?

Depending on the vehicle and product, we may install items such as steering wheels, door handles, lighting upgrades, spoilers, screens, dash cams, trim kits, and selected aftermarket accessories.

Do you warranty customer-supplied parts?

We can stand behind our installation, but we do not control the quality of customer-supplied products. Product defects, missing hardware, bad fitment, or manufacturer issues are separate from installation labor.

Graphic Design

Do you offer design services too?

Yes. We offer design services for businesses that need professional branding, production-ready artwork, and vehicle-specific layouts, because a bad logo on a great wrap is still a bad logo.

What kind of design work do you do?

We handle logo design, logo refreshes, rebranding, print-ready artwork setup, vehicle graphics, and wrap layout work depending on the project.

What is the difference between a logo, a rebrand, and a wrap design?

A logo is a mark. A rebrand is a broader visual system. A wrap design is artwork built to actually fit and read well on a vehicle. They are not the same job.

Can you work from an existing logo or file?

Yes, as long as the files are usable. If not, we can rebuild, clean up, or vectorize them for production.

Scheduling & Process

How far out are you booked?

That depends on the season, the service, and current workload. Contact us for current lead times.

How long do you need the vehicle?

It depends on the project. Smaller services move faster. Full wraps, PPF, removal-heavy jobs, and complicated modifications take more time.

Can I wait while the vehicle is being worked on?

Usually no for larger jobs. Smaller services depend on the schedule.

Do you need to inspect the vehicle in person?

Not always, but some vehicles should be inspected before final scheduling, especially if there is damage, failing paint, removal work, or anything unusual.

What happens if you find a problem once the job starts?

If we uncover hidden issues such as failing paint, prior damage, old adhesive, weak trim, or poor previous work, we will let you know before moving forward.

Removal & Replacement

Do you remove old wraps?

Yes. We offer wrap removal, but removal is quoted based on the vehicle, age of the film, condition of the wrap, and adhesive cleanup required.

Why is removal sometimes expensive?

Because some wraps come off cleanly, and others fight every inch. Sun exposure, cheap film, bad installation, age, and adhesive failure can turn removal into a labor-heavy mess.

Can you remove a wrap and install a new one?

Yes, depending on vehicle condition after removal and the scope of the replacement project.

Warranty & Expectations

Will my vehicle be flawless after wrapping?

No serious shop should promise that. A wrap can look excellent, but it does not erase poor bodywork, repaint history, weak paint, or pre-existing imperfections.

Do you warranty your work?

Warranty terms depend on the material, service type, and issue involved. Manufacturer warranty and installation warranty are not the same thing.

What is not covered under warranty?

That depends on the service, but abuse, neglect, impact damage, bad prior paintwork, and conditions outside normal use are not treated the same as a true workmanship or material defect.

Marine & Specialty

Do you wrap boats and pontoons?

We take on selected marine and specialty projects depending on the application, surface condition, dimensions, and scope.

What types of specialty projects do you handle?

Depending on the project, we may handle pontoons, trailers, equipment graphics, specialty commercial pieces, and custom accent work.

Why is marine and specialty work quoted differently?

Because sizes, surfaces, hardware, and access vary too much for flat menu pricing. These projects are rarely standard, and that is exactly why they need real quoting instead of made-up one-size-fits-all numbers.

Still have questions?

Every vehicle and every project is different. If you want honest guidance and real pricing, send us your year, make, model, photos, and the service you want.
